Misty Hills is the "no frills" horse boarding barn in Bluemont, VA providing quality care in a casual, no pressure setting. Our farm home is situated on 31 gorgeous pastoral acres with mountain views at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Easy, comfortable living is at the heart of our estate. Horses and riders of all ages, skill levels, and riding disciplines are welcome! We ride both English and Western styles.  

Barn Facilities - Well-built, 6-stall, center-aisle post and beam horse barn with sizeable 10x12 stalls featuring all the amenities, Dutch doors, automatic fly spray system, fans, a tamper-proof feed room, heated tack room, overflow tack/equipment room, electrical outlets at each stall for heated water buckets, clippers, etc., and center aisle wash area with hot and cold water. Roof replaced Apr 2023. Five of our stalls feature rear access to small grass paddocks right off the barn - perfect for medical layup. West paddock doubles as a quarantine lot. There is one newly re-footed 90' x 40' blue stone dry lot off the rear access of the barn - suitable for minis/ponies or horses with IR/EMS conditions or those prone to founder/laminitis. Our 4 large pastures feature sizeable run-in sheds with electricity, water, and 3-speed fans. Heated water buckets are provided in all stalls and heated water troughs are placed in all pastures during winter. Hay is administered via multiple slow feeder hay nets and hay racks during winter to avoid herd infighting. All paddocks and pastures are defined by new 4.5' tall 4-board oak fencing with rounded perimeters and various size metal gates for pedestrian, livestock, and vehicle access. All fencing was replaced between Nov 2020 and May 2023. We have a 65' x 200' outdoor riding arena that is well-footed and lighted. It was recently renovated in May 2023 with a new drain, blue stone base and sand top footing. Perfect for general ground work and dressage, suitable for jumping. Separate structures for hay storage and equipment storage. 

Hydrotherapy - One unique offering at our barn that you will not find anywhere else is access to our heated 19' Jacuzzi PowerPro™ Swim Spa Exercise Trainer! It features adjustable PowerPro™ DX swim blades to provide the best swim experience for every level, from beginners to triathletes. SteadySwim™ buoyancy jet keeps swimmers aligned by elevating you into the proper body position and (4) 4Hp pumps produce a powerful velocity of water for premium swim blade and hydrotherapy performance. A unique SmoothSwim™ shell design incorporates hips in the shell to stop reflective waves and keep you in your swim lane. Premium LED lighting, an illuminated waterfall, exterior running lights, and an illuminated status indicator light adds elegance and ambiance. The mountain views overlooking the horse pastures certainly enhance an already elevated experience! Incorporate a pre- or post-ride swim to bolster your exercise routine with the swim-in-place current or simply relax on the 4-seat jetted hot tub and enjoy the views! Use of our Swim Spa is included in the cost of board and simply requires advance notice to ensure no one else is using at the same time. Bathroom access through garage into house mudroom. 

Trails - We have miles and miles of ride-out available in our area! Our neighborhood in Bluemont is truly an equestrian haven, nestled between several gravel roads and dozens of large horse properties with riding agreements between many of the neighbors. The hacking potential is tremendous. Currently, Misty Hills has a large trail that we maintain around our perimeter fencing that provides a starting point to several trails on adjoining properties. We are working on putting together a map of all the trails in the area, so stay tuned!
